Cleopatra Entertainment is about to release its new action drama Dreaming Hollywood on digital and disc, along with a limited theatrical run.
A surreal revenge thriller described as “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas meets Tarantino,” Dreaming Hollywood is all about Ray Balfi, a struggling screenwriter who has pitched his script for an animated movie to about a hundred production companies in the LA area, and been rejected by all of them. So he’s incensed to find one of those companies stole his idea and is making his movie anyway, and he won’t see a dime. But they WILL see a bullet to the face as Ray goes on a murderous rampage. I guess a lawsuit would take too long.
Dreaming Hollywood stars Turk Matthews (CSI:NY, ENTOURAGE, CRIMINAL MINDS), Eliot (STAND AND DELIVER, 21 JUMP STREET), Link Ruiz (THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS, NCIS, RAY DONOVAN), and Madelyn Allen (DUKE AND DAMMIT, NATURAL DISASTERS) along with appearances by Rafael Sigler (GENTEFIED), Ben Lin (FRESH OFF THE BOAT, LAW & ORDER, MORTAL COMBAT) and Thomas Evans (THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT, GENERAL HOSPITAL, CRIMINAL MINDS). It was written and directed by Frank Martinez, and it will officially premiere at the Laemmle Royal Theater in LA before landing on VOD platforms March 22.
A Blu-Ray is also coming that will include a soundtrack CD, as the film features the tunes of DMX, ONYX and others.
